Barbaresco is where it all started in 1859 and it best represents the identity of Gaja; the family played a pivotal role in turning the region into the iconic symbol of quality that it is today.

2023 is considered a hot vintage, but the changeable weather at the end of the summer slowed down phenolic ripening. This allowed the team to run a calm, plot-by-plot harvest to ensure each parcel reached perfect maturity.

By owning 100% of their vineyards, Gaja maintains complete control on the entire process. This enables them to quickly adapt to the conditions of each vintage, and consistently craft exceptional wines.
