This year the quantity of Monfortino released on the market is much lower than the 2019 vintage and back to normal production of 7-8.000 bottles.

The warm conditions of the 2020 vintage in Piemonte produced immediately open and seductive wines, characterized by rich, ripe fruit and silky, polished tannins, balancing the obvious depth and complexity of the Monfortino.

Alongside the 2020 Riserva, Giacomo Conterno released its 2022 Barolos: Arione, Cerretta and Francia. A masterclass in site specificity in a vintage where so many other producers struggled to articulate true cru character.
