Dark ruby. Brooding nose hints at dark cherry, strawberry and red cherry jam. Rich, almost exotic flavors of dark red fruits complicated by herbs show lovely texture and depth but could use a little more sweetness. Bright, harmonious acidity provides considerable lift on the long, pure finish, which features obvious violet and pepper notes (there’s 10% petit verdot here). A little more fruit and flesh and I would have scored this higher.
